We arrived in Hoi An late the previous night. We stayed at Palm Garden Resort. Our guide fetched us after breakfast to tour the Old Town. In 1999 the old town was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, with buildings that display a blend of local and foreign influences such as Japanese, Chinese, French and Portuguese.
We first visited the market. Fresh fruits, vegetables and seafood. Yum!
Thereafter we went to a show with traditional Vietnamese music and dancing telling the story of Hoi An.
When the show finished we walked across the street and visited a Chinese Temple. the altars are all so prettily adorned.
