After a healthy breakfast we went to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Cu Chi Tunnels are located 75 kilometres northwest of Ho Chi Minh and are an immense network of connected tunnels that were used by the Viet Cong soldiers during the Vietnam War. The tunnels were used as hiding spots during fighting between armed forces. They were also used as communication and supply routes, hospitals, for food and weapon storage and living quarters for numerous North Vietnamese fighters. The tunnel systems were very important to the Viet Cong in their resistance to American forces, and helped to counter the growing American military effort. The underground network is made up of 250 km of tunnels. It’s huge! It is such an interesting place to visit.
Great post 😁
